PLM 231A  SNCF

Between 1909 and 1912 the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranee (PLM) company received a number of Pacific locomotives in the 6100 series 231 A class.  From 1914 to 1919 they were constantly improved and their eventual classification became 231 B, C, D, E, F, G, H and finally K.  The K series with a SNCF (Societe Nationale des Chemins de Fer Francais) standardized tender.  Many of these famous locomotives had their days of glory when one could see them leading the luxurious Blue Train (Train Bleu) between Paris and Monte Carlo.
